The Cottage
Enter through the stable door into the open plan downstairs with dining area which comfortably seats 6 around a large table. Beyond the dining area is the cosy lounge area with two comfortable sofas, a 40” Smart TV, and a beautiful old fireplace inset with an electric wood burning stove. There are details of some of the walks in the local area and a small range of books, games and jigsaws. The small freezer is in the under stairs cupboard.
The modern kitchen is compact and comes well equipped with an electric cooker, fridge, kettle, 4-slice toaster, microwave and washer/drier plus all your usual kitchen equipment. The kitchen door leads outside to the small rectangular Portland stone paved enclosed courtyard with charcoal BBQ and garden dining furniture, a perfect place to relax with a drink and something to eat at the end of a busy day sightseeing.
The stairs from the lounge turn a corner and lead to the first floor:
At the top of the stairs, the first door leads into a restful and light single bedroom with view over Church Green. Storage consists of a medium chest of drawers.
The next door opens into the king size bedroom. This is a large and airy room with built in wardrobe, large chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and vanity unit and wooden towel holder.
The large family bathroom has built-in units providing lots of storage and the two basins each with a backlit demisting mirror above, bath with overhead shower, toilet and heated towel rail.
Steep stairs lead up from landing to the second floor where there are sloped ceilings – so please mind your head!
The stairs open out directly into the light and airy single bedroom. Storage in this ‘through bedroom’ consists of a medium chest of drawers and a bedside cabinet with a door leading to the twin room.
The twin room is charming and full of character whilst still retaining the cottage charm. There are large and medium chests of drawers for all your storage requirements as well as a vanity unit with mirror above and wooden towel rail.
Cottage has everything we needed. Wareham is full of places to get food – and we did cook occasionally too. Plenty to see and do in the area. Excellent week.
